 This Weeks News
Well, week two of our news letter and the panic starting setting in. I'm not the best writer in the world and was wondering if I would have enough to report. By Saturday afternoon things were looking grim, so I decided that I would hide away Monday and Tuesday and pass on the letter this week.
Not being a defeatist though, I decided to use my initiative and thought about who would help me. I decided to use the tools I had and started to think. Think think think. It's amazing once you put your mind to things how everything can and often does come good. So I spoke to all the mentors who gave me snippets of worthy news and then I remembered our very own columnist. We have one of the most experienced professional poker writers in the world.
Excellent I thought and proceeded to harass Paul for information. Before I knew it he was in full flow and my letter was starting to look better.
The point? Use the tools you have, friends, videos, websites, training sessions etc. anything and everything that may help you becomes a successful winning player. Ask yourself a question and be honest with yourself.
How much effort did I put in last week to improve myself? Hmmmm...
Andrew Nunn will be doing a presentation on his Tuesday Session covering lots of different topics on STT strategy and showing players how to fix leaks in their games. He has worked extremely hard on this and I m very confident that ALL STT players and any other game players will show their appreciation for Nunny and turn up for his presentation.
ONWARDS AND UPWARD
New recruits welcome. Chris Pearson, Richard Fellows and Andrew Alex all joined us last week to embark on their quest to find poker riches.
WHO'S HOT
Many congrats to Greg Reardon who has moved to full ring NL and recorded a 6 day winning streak
Not to be out done Sunny Chatta had a 5 day streak at 30 bb ss recording a whopping $2700
A special mention to John "Peachy butt" Richards who had a 10 day winning streak. Well done guys.
Monica Davies and Michael Retie both registered winning weekends and Monica and James power are still in the hunter for the poker survivor promotion. Go get 'um guys and girls.
Hamster boy who shipped me a very speculative hand came runner up in an MTT, receiving a very nice payday, (at the point of looking at this hand I was bewildered about his call). But then what do I know as the money ($7500) ships to hamsterboy.
Also Rab Lawson was unlucky not to take down his $50 rebuy MTT but still received a very respectable $7600 for his 2nd place finish. Great showing lads.
Gez Barclay is having a great month having played over 1000 STTs and is up over 2.3k. Brilliant figures.
The last but not least mention has to go to our very own Paul Jackson who showed ultimate flair style and panache to take down the Omaha 1k guaranteed on Pokershare, only a couple of days after winning the $100 Omaha Monday MTT on IPoker for $3500. A true leader showing us how it's done.
